If you’re not careful, tooth decay and enamel erosion can harm and destroy your smile. This is why it’s important to expose your teeth to fluoride each day. However, Dr. Thomas Anglemire and our dental team understand that might be a difficult task to check off your “To-Do” list if you’re not sure how to do so. So, to help you, we will be happy to list the ways you can access fluoride.

First, ask for a fluoride treatment at Granger Family Dentistry PC. When you come into our office for your professional cleaning appointment, our team will give you a professional fluoride treatment, which will typically come in the form of a foam, gel or varnish and it will likely be flavored. This will give your teeth the strength they need to survive.

Second, use fluoride oral hygiene products. It’s best to brush your teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste that has been approved by the American Dental Association. Also, rinse your mouth once a day with fluoride mouthwash. If you do so, your smile will be thoroughly cleaned and supported.

Third, use natural fluoride sources. For your convenience, your city provides fluoridated water in the local water system. So, if you drink enough tap water, you will receive the fluoride exposure your teeth need. You can also find fluoridated water in specific brands of bottled water. Lastly, there are some foods you can eat that can increase your fluoride intake. Those foods are spinach, pickles, carrots, tomatoes and asparagus. For more food tips, please talk to Dr. Thomas Anglemire.
